“I would like to thank Damelin West Rand for preparing me not only in theory but also in practice for the events industry,” said Ananda after receiving her awards at our graduation ceremony this year.

Student awards last far longer than the applause on graduation day and are noticed by prospective employers when reading through job applications. Student awards have often helped recent graduates secure jobs as employers recognise awards as a sign that a graduate is goal-orientated and hard-working.

“When I completed my qualification in Conference, Exhibition and Events Management, staff at Damelin West Rand assisted me finding a position in events management,” says Ananda who now works at Makiti Wedding & Function Venue in Krugersdorp. “The course I did had a wide variety of subjects which ensured we learnt all there is to know for the events industry,” says Ananda.

Ananda is responsible for the event set-up of Makiti Wedding & Function Venue’s weddings and functions and has had the opportunity to act as co-ordinator for a few of the functions. Her positive attitude and keen eye for detail ensures events under her supervision run smoothly. We know that Ananda will continue to make all of us at Damelin West Rand proud.

Conference, exhibition & event management is a one-year comprehensive programme that addresses all the critical issues in the design, development, implementation and coordination of big and small functions. Click here for more information about our Conference, exhibition & event management course.
