What if I am unsure as to what programme to study?
Choosing what to study is one of life’s most important decisions and it can be very intimidating. Damelin West Rand offers all prospective learners guidance and advice and suggests that they complete a CPTI (Career Personality Type Indicator). The CPTI assists in identifying which field of study is most suited to the prospective learner’s personality type.
What support and guidance is available to me during study?
We have dedicated programme managers who provide support and guidance to all learners throughout their time at Damelin West Rand. Learners also receive ongoing career advice and guidance and are coached in terms of interview skills and CV compilation to assist them with job search.
What is the difference between a part time and full time qualification?
There is no qualitative difference between the qualifications you study either part time or full time through Damelin West Rand. What method of teaching is used at Damelin West Rand?
We believe in and uphold the principle of experiential learning. We do not believe in, or administer traditional lecture-type learning only in which the learner is a passive listener. Our programmes are engaging, interactive and experiential, creating skills and instilling knowledge that is based on real understanding rather than theory alone. Our facilitators are continuously evaluated by learners and management to ensure our standards are upheld.
What sporting and social activities are available?
We want you to have fun and make new friends while studying at Damelin West Rand. We plan monthly socials and events and offer our learners opportunities to play team sports and get active. Our Sports & Events Co-ordinator meets with each learner at the start of the academic year to find out your interests and to make sure we meet your needs outside of the classroom. Follow our Facebook page and visit our News & Events link to see what’s happening.
